Hi, guys! Hope you’re all well and not catching the awful stomach bug that seems to be hitting everywhere! So far so good here. I had an amazing trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico this last weekend and wanted to share a few of my favorite items that I used before and during the trip! Let’s check out my bathing suit from Helen Jon and Rodan and Fields Sunless Tanner and Sunscreen!
I received these items so that I could write an honest review. I only recommend products and services I believe in. All words and opinions are my own!
What I’m Loving This Week
My Helen Jon Bikini
I partnered up with Nani Nalu’s Kansas City location for the trip. They make swimsuit shopping really fun and pre-choose suits for you based on a little survey. You go in by appointment (preferably…they do take walk-ins) and try on the swimsuits they’ve chosen for you. They know their suits and will choose more based on how things are fitting and what you’re looking for. They fitted me with the perfect suit and I’m so happy with it! I got this amazing bikini from Helen Jon. It fits me perfectly and makes me feel amazing! It’s so comfortable and feels incredibly well-made. And she’s a Kansas City local! Super cool!

Rodan and Fields Sunless Tanner
Before I left for Mexico, I wanted to get a little tan…the healthy way. I know an awesome girl that sells Rodan and Fields and asked about a sunless tanner and sunscreen. She got me a bottle of each and I love them both! I used two applications of the Rodan and Fields Essentials Foaming Sunless Tan. The photo shows my original color on my left leg and my right leg is after two applications. You can really tell the difference if you look closer to my feet. I loved it because it was easy to apply and gave me a nice light tan without looking fake.
If you give it a try, make sure you shave and exfoliate before applying the foaming sunless tanner. Be careful not to add too much on your knees, elbows, and ankles as these areas tend to soak in more and can end up darker. If you do end up with darker areas, exfoliate the darker areas and it should remove some of the color. I may or may not have had to do that…
Rodan and Fields Sunscreen
Along with the Foaming Sunless Tan, Molly gave me the Rodan and Fields Essentials Broad Spectrun SPF 30 Sunscreen. This stuff works! And, it doesn’t smell like your typical sunscreen! A few years ago my husband and I went to Mexico and I left with sun poisoning. We used a cheap sunscreen, and didn’t apply it quite enough. At all. This sunscreen from Rodan and Fields is a broad spectrum so it covers UVA and UVB rays, as well as free radicals and environmental stressors. It’s water resistant for up to 40 minutes and two hours out of the water. It goes on easily and isn’t sticky or greasy. It’s great! My husband even commented that he liked it. 🙂
I used the sunscreen all weekend. I feel like it definitely did it’s job (hello, no sunburn!), but I still got a great tan. It protected my skin but still allowed just enough sun to “get through” to give me a nice glow!
