How To Style: Summer Skirts

How To Style Summer Skirts If you’re like me, you not only wear shorts a lot during the summer, but also a lot of skirts. They’re light and airy, and typically…pretty darn cute! If you like the idea of wearing a summer skirt but aren’t quite sure how to style them or make them versatile and worth it, keep on reading because the latest post is all about how to style summer skirts!

Summer Skirts – Outfit Inspiration #1

How To Style Summer Skirts - Tank With Skirt & Jacket This first outfit features a sheer (but lined!) pleated-front skirt from Old Navy. Having the sheer overlay and the pleats on the front make this red skirt very on-trend. I added this striped tank from Jessica Simpson and some fun black patent peep-toe pumps.

Since it’s almost time to start thinking about transitioning our wardrobes from Summer to Fall, I picked out this super cute khaki jacket from J Crew. I love the ruffle detail on it, but if you aren’t in to that, guess what?! It’s removable!

Add some great accessories like these silver aviators, this black clutch (Which is only $6!) and the gold necklace/bracelet combo to finish out the #ootd!

This trendy skirt can be dressed up like I did here, or you can dress it down by wearing a t-shirt and casual shoes like these suede slip-ons from Vans. Transition into Fall by adding a cute denim jacket!

How to Style Summer Skirts - Chambray Skirt & Striped Bow Tank Another fun skirt that’s currently on-trend is this chambray skirt from Gap. The waist tie is removable so you can use it as an added bit of feminine style, or remove it if that’s not you. The skirt is extremely versatile but for this post I styled it with this trendy striped tank with a pretty bow on the chest. I am not usually one for bows…they’re not very flattering on me. But…I love this one! The fabric of the bow is very soft and flowy so it doesn’t stick out like I thought it would.

I like this outfit with the black peep-toe pumps from before, but it would also look really cute with black flats. Add your favorite bag and voila!

How to Style Summer Skirts - Eyelet Skirt with Black Lace Top This last skirt from Old Navy is perfect for summer. The cinched waist, color, and eyelet detail on the bottom just screams summer to me! I absolutely love it with this black lace top from Banana Republic. What a pretty way to dress up the skirt!

If you wanted a more casual look, a fun (or plain…) t-shirt or tank top would work great, too. Maybe this white pocketed tee from H&M would suit your needs! 🙂 It’s very versatile, too. You could even switch the tops between this outfit and the chambray skirt outfit! The striped tank from the first outfit also looks amazing with the chambray skirt! Mix and match = win win! 🙂

Which outfit is your favorite? I’m leaning more toward the first one myself… The skirt is just too cute! Let me know below!
