Earlier this month I had the pleasure of attending Pro Bowl Tight End for the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce’s Walk The Walk Fashion Show. This was the 2nd annual charity event put on to benefit Kelce’s “87 And Running Foundation” and local non-profit Operation Breakthrough. It was a very fun event that raised money for a very worthy cause and was a launch party for the newest fundraising effort by Kelce for Operation Breakthrough.
I received complimentary tickets for this event in return for my honest feedback. All opinions are my own!
Travis Kelce’s Walk The Walk Fashion Show Overview
The Walk The Walk Fashion Show was held at The Guild KC in the trendy Crossroads District. It was a beautiful location with a very chic ambiance. I absolutely loved the elegant, vintage look and the mixture of aged wood, subway tile, and a vintage chandelier. The building was also easy to find and there was free parking just outside the building!
In addition to a beautiful atmosphere, there was a great selection of delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Olive Events Catering, as well as drinks from Crane Brewing and J. Rieger & Co. The wait staff was very friendly and there were many of them walking around making sure the 200+ guests were well-fed and having a great time! There was also a walk-up bar area that was always packed with with attendees.
Side note: My friend Elizabeth and I may or may not have had two of those Strawberry Shortcakes…They were AMAZING! And how adorable are those mini milk bottles! So fun!
The actual fashion show was pretty short, but it featured looks from local retailers like Etiquette Boutique, The Garment District, Houndstooth, and Charlie Hustle. The show was closed out by two sets of siblings from Operation Breakthrough, all wearing t-shirts from Charlie Hustle. They pretty much stole the show. 🙂 #adorable
The 87 and Running Foundation & Operation Breakthrough
Travis Kelce’s Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation empowers disadvantaged youth to achieve success by providing resources and support to their communities and cultivating their talent in the areas of education, business, athletics, STEM, and the arts. Operation Breakthrough is one of the largest single-site early education and social services facility in the state of Missouri. They serve 400 children daily from the urban core of Kansas City. They not only provide early childhood education but also basic healthcare, parenting classes, a food pantry, and more. Their mission is to provide a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education.
At the fashion show, they announced a new fundraising initiative: Kelce’s Catching For A Cause. You can pledge as little as $1 per each catch that Kelce makes in the upcoming NFL season. If you pledge $5 or more per catch, you will be entered to win 2 Chiefs tickets and VIP passes for an upcoming game!
What I Wore…
For this event I didn’t want to be over-dressed, but more on the trendy side. I decided to wear a fun, floral-print peplum top from Topshop and white, distressed, cropped skinny jeans from Free People. The jeans are really stretchy and comfortable and can easily be dressed up or down. They’re my new favorite! Shop them here!
Elizabeth and I had such a great time at the Walk The Walk event! Travis even took photos with all the guests after the fashion show. He is such a nice person! I look forward to attending again next year!
