Back to school is upon us and one of the biggest purchase decisions for some students is the style-showing backpack! Getting a new backpack was one of my favorite things about starting a new year of school and as a mom, I can see that in my boys, too. If you’re looking for a stylish and functional backpack for your older child (or maybe even yourself if you’re a college student!) here are my top 10 backpacks under $100 for back to school!
My Top 10 Backpacks Under $100 – Minimalist Style
Middle and high school girls are probably less worried about how durable their backpack is, and more concerned with how it represents them and their growing personal style. Luckily there are some great backpacks that give you both!

Rose pink and blush pink are still very much on-trend and can be seen everywhere. Herschel Supply Company creates bags and backpacks that are modern and functional, with a trendy vintage vibe. This chic backpack has water bottle pockets on the sides and measures 10.25in x 14.25in x 5in.

This chic Sri Lanka backpack from Aldo is made from faux leather and is a rucksack style with an adjustable shoulder strap. The gold hardware makes this already chic bag all the more stylish!

Metallics are very on-trend, making this a great backpack choice! This Converse Metallic Backpack is made from a sturdy woven construction and the heavy-duty metallic finish not only adds style, but lots of durability. This fun back comes in light blue, silver, black and rose quartz. And the best part? It’s on sale right now for just $25.99! Click here to get it before it runs out!
My Top 10 Backpacks Under $100 – Floral Print Backpacks

This pretty backpack is also from Herschel Supply Company and is available in this gorgeous canvas floral print. It measures 13.75in x 12.25in x 4.75in.

Vans has been incredibly popular for years, and it seems it’s becoming more mainstream. I’m kind of in love with this Vans X Van Gogh Almond Blossom backpack and want it for myself even though I don’t even need one! I am a sucker for turquoise, though. 🙂 Anyway, with an extreme sports name like Vans behind it, you can be sure it’s durable!

Vera Bradley has been extremely popular among young women the last few years and with patterns like this “Cut Vines” I can see why! I love the colors in this durable backpack. And the Vera Bradley Lighten Up Study Hall Backpack is just that. Durable. Instead of the signature fabric that’s long been associated with Vera Bradley, the backpack has a durable water-resistant coating and is also lined on the inside. It also has a padded laptop sleeve to protect those all-important gadgets!
My Top 10 Backpacks Under $100 – Sporty Backpacks

This Converse Straight Edge Backpack is about as plain as it gets, but with that unmistakable Chuck Taylor patch on the front they’ll still get their laid-back style across! This backpack also has a hidden laptop sleeve that will hold up to a 15-inch laptop! All for less than $50!

My 11-year-old would be all over this backpack if he needed a new one! This Herschel Supply Co. Grove Medium Camo Backpack is durable and on-trend, even if your kid doesn’t want to be. 🙂 And…it’s only $40!

You can’t really talk sporty anything without bringing Nike into the mix! This sleek black and white Nike Jordan Airborne Backpack has a padded laptop sleeve, padded back, and helpful side pockets, giving you all the storage you’d need. It measures 19.5″ H x 13″ W x 6″ D and is just $65!

Like Nike, Under Armour has been taking the sports world by storm! This Under Armour Scrimmage Laptop Mesh Backpack has been created with comfort and durability in mind. It has a padded back and padded straps, a water-repellent finish, and a soft-lined laptop sleeve. Water bottle pockets on the sides, too! And…it’s under $50, PLUS it’s on sale right now!
So there are my top 10 backpacks for back to school 2018! I hope you find one you (and your child!) will love…and hopefully you’ll even get more than one year out of it! 🙂
I’d love to hear which backpack YOU would buy for yourself, and how old your kiddos are! Comment below!
I love Herschel backpacks. That’s what I travel with aside from a back pack diaper bag!
Not only are those metallics hot right now, holographics are all the rage. Both my girls are asking for them!
I also want the Vans X Van Gogh Almond Blossom backpack for myself. I could definitely use it to carry a book and my wallet in. Who cares if this 40-something gets looks. Love the backpack, so who cares.
haha Love it! I feel the same way!
I LOVE the prints and style of the Vera Bradley backpacks! Makes me wish I was back in school again hehehe
