I covered three nights of Kansas City Fashion Week this time around, and if you missed my Thursday night recap, check it out here! This post however, is my Kansas City Fashion Week recap of their Friday night show!
Kansas City Fashion Week Recap – Friday
Gabriela International Productions
Friday night’s runway show kicked off with a bright, colorful collection inspired by worldly cultures. There were great uses of mixed textures, lots of lace and shiny fabrics, and gold accents.
Cassandra P was up next with an amazing collection of bridal gowns. The gowns were very chic, and there were options for all shapes and sizes. There were some gorgeous lace dresses, as well as satin-like dresses. She also used colors other than white as you can see below!
Jane Of All
Jane of All was a fun line to see, especially when the finale walk took place! Her looks started out red, then orange, yellow…you get the picture! 🙂 I didn’t notice the rainbow progression until the finale when everyone was walking out together. So cool! Her collection was very fun and wearable, too!
Amanda Casarez was up next and I loved her line, too! There was a lot of green, yellow, and black. She had a few young girls model for her and they were absolutely adorable! This line was very feminine, yet bold.
Oak Park Mall Spotlight
Since Oak Park Mall was the stage sponsor for the Spring/Summer 2018 shows, they had a collection of current looks each night. The Friday night collection was called “DisneyBounding: 13 Villains & Vixens” and showcased items from Coach, Dillard’s, Disney, Evereve, Garage, Camille La Vie, and Forever 21. With “vixens” in the title you can imagine how dark a lot of the pieces were! Lots of burgundy, dark green and black.
Her by Georgina Herrera
Georgina Herrera’s jewelry line, “Her by Georgina Herrera” was absolutely amazing. The large cuff bracelets, huge rings, arm cuffs, and wide chokers were to die for! And everything looked so chic styled with the sleek black dresses. The finale look was a white dress with the body adorned with beautiful hanging tiles. Incredible!
J. Manning’s collection back in March was one of my favorites and the same rings true for this season! She used two floral patterns for her Spring/Summer collection and I just adored them both. One had a black background and the other white. The florals were used for both the mens’ and womens’ looks and I loved it! See for yourself below!
Friday night’s finale showcase was presented by Project Runway alum Michael Drummond. His collection was all grey and black and included some of my favorites…sheer panels, zippers, and asymmetrical pieces! There were several pieces that I wanted to take home for myself!
What I Wore…
My outfit for Friday night featured a black laser-cut top from my friend and local designer Roger Figueroa. I got so many comments on it and it was a lot of fun to wear!
